August 28, 2013 | Weekly Fuel Market Update
Prices are spiking as we move into Labor Day weekend. Increases like this typically happen right before a national holiday. Prices could continue to increase beyond the holiday with increasing crude oil costs due to the tension in Syria. Last week there was a slight decrease in wholesale fuel costs, but we saw it even out by the end of the week. This week has been a strong up-market as prices are rising quickly.
Gallup has tightened on supply in the last few weeks. Shipping from outside the area has been the norm lately. Albuquerque has seen fluctuation in prices causing lines at the loading racks and delayed loads. Artesia has ample supply and long lines at the rack to show for it.
West Texas / El Paso
Tight supply in El Paso has led to high prices. Desert Fuels always has competitive prices regardless of market conditions.
