Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | July 29th, 2014
Despite production troubles in the Southwest, refineries around the nation are running at record levels this Summer. A North American energy supply boom, Increasing exports, summer domestic demand, and refinery expansions have all created and allowed for the increase.
Supply is steady in New Mexico outside of a couple of isolated interruptions. NM has also been able to absorb some of the overflow due to issues at Texas refineries. Diesel fuel has been plentiful while gas has been a little harder to maintain consistent supply.
Demand in El Paso has been high. Desert Fuels continues to have good supply of diesel while gasoline has been harder to maintain.
Odessa has seen some improved availability. Lines at the rack are becoming more manageable. Amarillo and Lubbock also have great availability and competitive prices.
