Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | May 27th, 2015
Wholesale gas and diesel prices were slightly down just before Memorial Day weekend and have plunged even more coming out of the holiday. With the higher gas demands of summer vacationers and the lower prices of crude oil, refiners are hoping to keep up the big margins they have been experiencing. Refineries are trying to take advantage of large gasoline crack spreads by processing record amounts of crude oil.
Gas supply has loosened up gradually across the state. We’ve seen two consecutive down days in the market since the holiday weekend and expect prices to level out by the end of the week.
Most of the refinery and rack issues we were experiencing in the Spring have been resolved, giving us more supply options from Amarillo to El Paso.
No significant update in this region.
