Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | December 9th, 2014
OPEC member nations continue to produce at or above target levels, keeping world-wide supply high, and crude oil prices low. Prices could stay at these levels for several more months before significant increases. High production of crude oil does not always mean an abundant supply of refined fuel. Refinery and terminal outages have kept supply tight in some parts of the country. One way to make sure you never run out of fuel? Consider a fuel contract.
Product from local refineries has been tight. This has created large daily swings in prices from suppliers. Be sure to call me or watch the Group 3 Spot Region price movements on PowerFuel to help you make the best buying decisions.
The Odessa terminal is slowly improving and product is becoming more and more available. Supply is still very limited, so order fuel with as much advanced notice as possible. El Paso continues to have product available and Desert Fuels has multiple supply sources and very competitive prices.
Phoenix and Tucson continue to be short on diesel as pipelines are backed up with a priority on gasoline. Line up your loads with as much advanced notice as possible.
