The U.S. weekly retail gasoline average increased 8 cents to hit $3.27 in the first week of December due to unplanned refinery maintenance and slightly higher crude prices. The 2012 per gallon annual average was $3.63, 2013’s average was $3.59, and 2014 is expected to drop to $3.43.
U.S. estimated crude production averaged 7.5 million bbl/pd in 2013, and is expected to climb to 8.5 million bbl/pd in 2014, before dipping by 750,000 bbl/pd in 2015.
