Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | May 14th, 2014
May through September is summer driving season in the United States. Retail regular gasoline is expected to average $3.61 per gallon this summer – $.03 cents higher then last years summer average. The EIA expects the price average for the entire year to be lower than last year.
Fuel supply is readily available throughout the state as local refiners are flooding the market and publishing the lowest prices. Diesel is up overall about $.05 cents from beginning of the week in Group III.
This is a unique market where local refiners compete with suppliers who ship fuel from refiners in the gulf region. Desert Fuels is seeing great expansion into the El Paso market.
We see an increase in supply in Phoenix and Tucson. Place orders a day in advance to secure loads at competitive prices.
Colorado – Front Range
Supply is generally good in Denver. No significant change in this region.
