Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | April 21st, 2015
Gasoline and Diesel prices have consistently increased all across the nation for the past few weeks. Higher demand along with the higher cost of production could keep prices on the rise.
Where’s the Gas? Refinery outages have caused one of the worst shortages of gasoline we have seen in a long time in the Southwest. There are shortages at every terminal in New Mexico that could last another week. Be prepared by scheduling loads as soon as you know when they may fit.
Unleaded has been tight in the area due to issues in New Mexico. This should also lighten up next week with the Artesia refinery coming back up and product flowing to the terminals. Diesel is in much better supply.
The shortage on gas reaches into Arizona. Line up your loads as early as possible. When prices are trading higher be sure to order your loads sooner than later.
