Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | May 27th, 2014
A few bad batches of gasoline from a local refinery tightened up supply in El Paso. Nationwide, refineries are generally increasing in production after months of planned maintenance. As we pass the Memorial Day Weekend and the traditional start of summer driving season, the national average retail price for unleaded gasoline is $3.67 per gallon matching last years price. U.S. Diesel prices decreased across the country, but are $.04 more than last year at this time.
Fuel supply, especially diesel is in good supply throughout the state. Local refiners are still publishing the lowest prices. Diesel was flat most of last week with a slight price increase going into the holiday weekend.
Gas supply in El Paso and Midland / Odessa has been tight and prices have been trending upward as demand increases. The supply of diesel in this area continues to be very solid. Carriers can be somewhat difficult to coordinate so be sure to order fuel with as much advanced notice as possible.
No significant change this week.
Colorado – Front Range
