Desert Fuels President J.J. Mancini is interviewed as a local expert for the Fuel Industry. At the time of writing this post, Albuquerque, NM had the lowest gas prices in the entire Untied States.
So the question was “Will the prices stay this low?” As J.J. Mancini, president of Desert Fuels, forecasted, these bargain basement prices are not sustainable. Albuquerque, NM has local refiners that can push the price lower when the crack spreads are high, but once the crack spreads are no longer as high, they will be forced to be more competitive, causing the cost of fuel to rise and ultimately cooling Albuquerque’s prices, ending our boast of enjoying the lowest fuel prices in the nation.
Thank you to Liz McKernan for doing a great job getting this information out to the consumers.
