Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | May 20th, 2015
Nationally
While the rest of the country is still enjoying fairly low prices on gasoline due to high inventories of crude oil and refined fuel, Californians are paying over $4 per gallon, and outages are the norm. The big takeaway for wholesale fuel-buyers? Watch price movements in the spot markets. Oil may be moving one way nationally, but refined fuel may be moving another way due to local market influences.
New Mexico
We’re seeing more gasoline on the wholesale market in the last week as local refineries are catching up with Summer products.
West Texas
Texas is seeing some relief in supply as refineries are finally recovering from recent outages. Desert Fuels has fuel in almost every terminal from Amarillo to El Paso and has the ability to bring transport loads from as far away as Colorado and New Mexico. We will keep you supplied even in the worst of supply shortages.
Arizona
Arizona is effected by market conditions in California with a large amount of refined fuel that is piped into Phoenix from Los Angeles. Watch the Los Angeles Spot Market on PowerFuel for insight on price movements.
