Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | April 29th, 2014
The political situation between Russia and the Ukraine continues to be unsettling, causing apprehension in the fuel market. In the United States, more and more refineries are completing their annual maintenance and producing closer to normal levels which is increasing US supply. Demand for diesel fuel seems to be up and is higher than last year at this time.
Supply continues to be good throughout the Land of Enchantment. Issues with power at the Phillips rack in Albuquerque on Monday caused some tightness in the beginning of the week, but things should be back to normal for the rest of the week. Desert Fuels has the ability to pull from every terminal in the Albuquerque area giving us the flexibility to always have fuel even when the area tightens up.
In El Paso, Desert Fuels continues to have a great price for diesel and supply is strong. Gas is a little tighter, but is improving. In Amarillo, Lubbock, Odessa, and the surrounding areas; carriers continue to be a challenge. Try and order the fuel you need with as much advanced notice as possible.
No significant change in this region. Be sure and check our daily pricing for both gas and diesel!
Colorado – Front Range
Carriers continue to be tight in Colorado. Please order your fuel with as much advanced notice as possible.
