Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | February 16th, 2016
Oil hits a winter peak demand in February. That means demand slumps from now until it rebounds in the summer. Add the fact that this is also the season for refinery maintenance, and oil inventories remain at all-time highs, and the forecast calls for more falling prices.
Local refineries seem to have slowed some in the last week and the Group 3 Spot Market is bottoming the market in New Mexico.
Now that the Big Spring refinery is back from a short turnaround, supply is much better in the region and lines at the Odessa terminal are moving much smoother. Desert Fuels has supply options from just about every direction in West Texas, from El Paso to Amarillo. We’ll never let you run out of fuel.
Tucson was extremely tight on diesel last week. When the pipeline is slow, look for a supplier that can long-haul fuel from El Paso or Phoenix.
