Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | August 26th, 2014
September is the most active month of hurricane season and we’re already seeing the threat as the first official tropical storm looms off the Florida coast. Expect the fuel market to react as we move into September.
As we wrap up the Summer driving season and head into the Memorial Day weekend demand is down and U.S. supply is generally up – a combination that usually results in lower prices. The national average for gas coming into Memorial Day weekend is at the lowest rate in the last three years.
Supply in New Mexico continues to be solid and refineries are all running well. Desert Fuels has numerous supply options and will continue to deliver fuel at competitive rates throughout the state.
Local refiners continue to bottom the market in El Paso. Desert Fuels has an abundant supply with both diesel and gasoline available in the area. Odessa supply continues to improve and lead times are getting better. At least 24 hour notice is still optimal, but we are able to deliver same day loads.
No significant change in this region.
Colorado – Front Range
Supply issues are still causing problems in this region with long lines at the racks and limited supply to non-contract customers. Order as early as you can.
