Weekly Fuel Market Update (WFMU) | December 9th, 2015
For some time now the question has been, “When will fuel prices go back up?” Now the question seems to be “When will fuel prices stop decreasing?” The steady decrease in the price of fuel is resulting in a new 5 year low in gas and diesel prices. The price of a barrel is under $40.00. For the consumer this is a great time, saving cash at the pump, but we wonder how long this can last without hurting the economy.
Obtaining supply has been a little challenging lately with refineries providing limited supply, pipeline issues, cold weather and the end of the year approaching. Even with those issues, Desert Fuels is keeping our customers happy with good supply and very competitive pricing.
Amarillo has had some bio supply issues. Other than that, Amarillo to Odessa and down to El Paso is fairly good on supply right now. In the world of wholesale fuel distribution, an easy day is rare so I will have to enjoy this one while I can.
No significant update in this region this week.
